Pelotonia - The Postlude

Just wanted to post a sample of pictures from the Pelotonia weekend. As always, the entire photo album is at the picasa link located below the pictures. The event was extremely well organized, inspirational, and beautiful. It was an absolute blast riding through the beautiful Ohio countryside with Bud, Vicki, and Kristin. In the end, thanks to everyone's generous support and Matt's unending popularity, the Amaizin' Matt Domestiques raised over $12,000 for cancer research. This is $8,000 more than our goal! Truly Amaizin'.

Friday night was the opening ceremonies with several VIP's in attendance, including one Mr. Lance Armstrong (sorry for the bad photo, we were fairly far away).

The next morning, before the ride, we got within a stones throw of LA; just after he gave the last minute address to cyclists before the ride and rode his bike across the grass, through a parking lot (we were standing in) and to the front of the group.

Out on the road with Vicki, Bud, and Kristin. I was really proud of all of them, completing their longest rides ever (including some pretty significant rolling hills) still smiling at the end.

Lazy Dayz of Summer

After a whirlwind finale to my residency training program, I have had the pleasure of slowing down and enjoying some simple things in life. What a blessing it was to spend the last 7 weeks at home with my delightful little guy. Cale is an absolute joy and I will always look back fondly on our summer 2009.

Highlights include:

I returned to work this past week with a part-time faculty appointment in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. I feel incredibly fortunate to be joining such a fantastic department, while maintaining some mommy time at home with my little sweetheart. Looking forward to experiencing the best of both worlds, including the pleasure of some Lazy Dayz of Fall and Winter!!
